Creating new SCMs to replace cement used in concrete.
Project Overview
The project aims to create new supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) that can replace a significant amount of cement used in concrete. It is funded by the U.S. Department of Energy Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) through the Harnessing Emissions into Structures Taking Inputs from the Atmosphere (HESTIA) program, which aims to address barriers to designing and constructing carbon-storing buildings.
